Access: Thanks to its location next to Nova Gorica Railway Station, EPIC is directly connected to Sežana and Jesenice, with multiple trains running between the cities every day. In immediate proximity, you will find the Slovenian - Italian border and Europe Square, the symbol of cross-border collaboration and the European Capital of Culture.

The EPICenter consists of several parts: in the northern section of the building, you will find the City on the Border permanent exhibition; the EPIC Gallery hosts engaging temporary exhibitions, while the EPIC Hall serves as a multifunctional venue for a wide range of events—from conferences and symposia to round tables and film screenings. At the southern end of the building, overlooking Europe Square, you can visit the charming EPIC Café, offering hot coffee and fresh croissants, as well as the GO! 2025 information point.

There is a parking lot for visitors in front of the EPIC centre. Nova Gorica Main Bus Station, located less than 1.5 km away, is connected to all the largest cities in Slovenia and several international destinations. Access is also ensured for individuals with impaired mobility.

The history of the building

EPIC has found its home in the former unloading area of Slovenian Railways, once a bustling intersection of people and goods. As part of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia, the building has been renovated and transformed into a modern interpretation centre, bridging the past and the future while providing a space for research, dialogue and the creation of collective memories.

The building consists of northern and southern AREAS. The ground floor of the northern area/part houses the permanent exhibition City on the Border, while the mezzanine above serves as a place for temporary exhibitions. The southern PART is composed of a conference room with modern equipment and almost 200 seats, as well as a charming EPIC Café, a perfect place to relax or enjoy a cup of coffee with friends and family.
