A Tribute to Zofka Kveder: The Film My Children's Genes

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, we will dedicate an evening to film and women’s creative genealogies at the EPICenter (EPIC Interpretation Center) in Nova Gorica. The program will begin with the documentary film Geni mojih otrok (Geni moje djece) by Croatian photographer and director Vladimira Spindler, the great-great-granddaughter of Zofka Kveder. Through an intimate and visually rich narrative, the film connects four generations of creative women in the filmmaker’s family.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with the director, in which she and Dr. Katja Mihurko, one of the foremost experts on the life and work of Zofka Kveder, will delve into the legacy and connections between the past and the present, as part of the celebration of the Year of Zofka Kveder.
