Festival Naprej / Forward

Culture rarely finds its way onto the front pages of newspapers and online media, or into the opening minutes of news programs. Even in the year when Nova Gorica, together with Gorizia, holds the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture (ECoC), very little space is devoted to cultural topics. Where do the reasons for this lie? How much and in what way have the media reported on events related to the ECoC? Is culture merely a nuisance — appreciated only when the media can attract readers and viewers with scandals?
