The EPIC Interpretation Centre is hosting the opening of the permanent exhibition City on the Border, created by Dr. Kaja Širok, which illuminates the history of Gorizia through personal and collective stories. The exhibition offers an insight into everyday life in the multicultural borderland of the 20th century and moves beyond national narratives by presenting a human, intimate perspective on the events that shaped the region before, during and after the two world wars.
The final part of the exhibition invites visitors to take part actively by sharing their own reflections, objects and memories, contributing to the living cultural heritage of Gorizia.
The opening will take place on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at 17:00 at EPIC. The exhibition is part of the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia and is included within the project EPIC – European Platform for the Interpretation of the 20th Century.
