Understanding Complexity, Living in a Complex World. Civil society, journalism and social sciences in an increasingly divided world
Yesterday marked the opening of the Festival of Complexity at the EPICentre in Nova Gorica. As part of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia, the festival provides a space to confront the pressing questions of our time – from the erosion of democratic norms to global conflicts and the impact of digital infrastructures on everyday life.
The festival brings together researchers, journalists, and civil society representatives working at the intersection of inquiry, reporting, and advocacy. Over two days, it explores freedom, truth, and resistance through a series of discussions and events.
The programme is curated by Dan Sanaren, PhD candidate at the Centre national de recherche scientifique (CNRS) in Paris and research coordinator at the Carter Center in Atlanta (USA).
