The Bohinj Railway – 120 years of stories. 120 ideas for the future. Time for a train.

On Friday, 2 October 2026 at 5.00 pm, an evening dedicated to stories, journeys and the Bohinj Railway will take place at the EPICentre in Nova Gorica.

Entitled ‘The Bohinj Railway – 120 Years of Stories. 120 Ideas for the Future. Time for a Train’, the evening will be devoted to stories that unfold along the railway, journeys, crossing borders and encounters.

As part of the ‘Time for Words – When a Journey Becomes a Story’ programme, Marco Carlone, Nicolas Rodigari and Vitali Vitaliev will take part, followed by the conclusion of the ‘120 Years of the Bohinj Railway’ photography competition with the announcement of the results, the award ceremony and a screening of the winning photographs.

Simultaneous interpretation into Slovenian and Italian will be provided.

The event will continue on Saturday, 3 October, at 2.00 pm in Solkan, with an aeroplane flying under the arch of the Solkan railway bridge.
