Opening of the EPICentre and the permanent exhibition City on the Border

Yesterday, we officially opened the EPICentre and the permanent exhibition City on the Border, which reveals the stories of the Goriška region and everyday life along the border throughout the 20th century.EPIC is a new interpretive, intercultural, and creative hub in the renewed area next to Europe Square.

It includes a multifunctional hall, gallery, café, ECoC info point, and the space for the permanent exhibition – becoming a new shared urban meeting place for both Goricas.

The exhibition, curated by Dr. Kaja Širok and her team, is built on personal stories, objects, and video testimonies. It goes beyond national narratives, offering an intimate and human perspective on the history that shaped this border region.
