Stories of the Border
A Town on the Border. The Goriška Region in the 20th Century
One-off guided tours that will not be repeated
Every month, a new guest brings their own perspective, their own knowledge and their own stories. You will thus discover the exhibition ‘A Town on the Border’ through the stories of people who not only know the Goriška region but also help shape it through their work, research and activities.
Join us on special guided tours where the museum’s stories meet personal perspectives, experiences and questions – and where the same exhibition can reveal a completely new story each time. New guests and friends join the ‘curators’ on a tour of the exhibition, with stories weaving together experiences, history and new narratives.
The first event in the ‘Stories of the Border’ series will be led by Mirt Komel, a writer, philosopher and lecturer at the University of Ljubljana. The author of numerous academic monographs is also well known in Slovenia for his literary output, which ranges from plays and travelogues to novels. His debut novel *The Pianist’s Touch* (2015) and the novel *Medsočje* (2018) were both nominated for the Kresnik Award and reached the final. These were followed by *Detektiv Dante* (2021) and the modernist novel *Akiles* (2023); his works have also been translated into Italian, German and Macedonian.
Theme of the guided tour of the exhibition: *POLPREPUSTNICA*
